FOR DIAMONDS GEMSTONES & MINERALS

Guild Laboratories provides independent grading, identification and appraisal services for diamonds and gemstones. Colorless or fancy colored diamonds are graded by us to the same rigorous standards as those used at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Diamonds graded at Guild Laboratories strives to grade diamonds to the same standards as those at GIA Gem Laboratory. Determination of color origin for colored diamonds is not conducted in our facility. We can send the stones out for this advanced testing prior to conducting our appraisal examination.

We evaluate precious stones of all kinds, transparent and opaque, including jade, opal, ornamental stones, decorative art, and man-made gems. Most gemstones and their treatments if any are able to be identified at our facility. Advanced testing at an outside laboratory is warranted only in rare instances where a stone is not immediately identifiable. Our appraisal, identification, and grading documents conform to standards of wording established by the Laboratory Manual Harmonization Committee (LMHC).

JEWELRY APPRAISAL SERVICES

We appraise jewelry from every era including antique jewelry from Georgian and earlier epochs, Victorian, Edwardian, Art Nouveau and Art Deco through Retro and modern designer jewelry.

We also appraise original or ethnic jewelry, timepieces, and collectible fashion (costume) jewelry.

FOR COIN COLLECTIONS & CURRENCY

As numismatic specialists, we conduct appraisals for various US and foreign coins, and other currency from the 18th- 21st century. We have limited experience with ancient coins and ephemera.

CONSULTING & LITIGATION SUPPORT

Our skilled litigation support is backed by decades of experience in areas such as; insurance, business litigation, tax (probate/casualty loss/donations), divorce, intellectual property and bankruptcy.

We will consult with individuals or businesses with or without documentation and review jewelry or gemstone appraisals conducted elsewhere. We also consult for personal purchases, resale items, and lotting for auction. Inquire for these billing rates.

This thoroughly comprehensive manual does the difficult task of estimating carat weights of mounted gemstones, calculated by their dimensions and shape, with over 300 pages of tables listed, and gemstone type.
